When you choose Eco Shine, you are selecting a proud local business dedicated to delivering exceptional reliability, industry expertise, and attention to detail. Owned and operated by Richard Wise, a third generation Victorian with a passion for ponds, landscaping & property maintenance. Richards first love for this work began when he was 14 working with his Dad, (the late Robert Wise a prominent Victoria Sculptor) on their backyard which overlooked the Cedar Hill Golf Course. Along with his brother Nick, they dug out the soil of the granite hillside in their backyard to create a large natural pond. They filled the pond with gold fish. They also had the odd turtle who would visit. The fish survived neighborhood cats, racoons, blue herons and even the blizzard of 96. Many wonderful memories were had sitting beside this pond. 

After graduating from Oak Bay High School, Richard moved to Olds, Alberta to study horticulture at Olds College.  He holds a diploma in Horticulture Production and a Certificate in Permiculture Design. Upon returning he worked in the Parks Department and landscaping industry for several years. Richard is excited to be the owner / operator of Eco Shine. To have the opportunity to express his vision and creativity for clients brings out his full passion. When Richard and his team are building a landscape project it doesn't even feel like work because he is truly in his element.
